In your opinion, what is the future for the accounting profession?

In the last ten years, we have seen very significant changes in the accounting profession. In Brazil a Public Digital Bookkeeping System (SPED) was created by the Government. Currently, a customer issues an Electronic Invoice (NFe) from the desktop of a computer, submits this to a Government website that creates an encrypted key for it. This (called DANFE) follows an electronic chain of control from the factory, until the product reaches the customer. An increasing number of Ancillary Obligations - electronically informed as well - allow the crossing of these data within the governmental sites, generating a strong and very effective control over the taxpayers. In order to meet all this technological demand, new softwares has been created capable of performing all these accounting, financial and fiscal tasks with the highest possible precision, as well as the large use of cloud computing

What is your growth strategy?

Our growth strategy is focused on the adhesion of more foreign clients, considering that Brazil has been sought by foreign companies to invest here, despite the political-economic crisis that we are experiencing

Where do you see your firm 5 years from now?

I firmly believe that we will achieve our goal, which is in five years, to have the maximum of international clients, considering the focus that we have at the moment

What is your biggest challenge?

Our biggest challenge currently is to inform and upgrade our small and medium-sized customers about this growing technological demand, of which most of them have not yet become aware. The Brazilian Government currently electronically controls revenues, taxes, expenses, profits, results, documents, in other words virtually everything. And most small and medium-sized businessmen, still do not seem to have perfect knowledge of the benefits, nor the inherent risks

What percentage of your work is international?

At present, about 20% of our business is focused on international companies

Tax consultancy services, accounting consultancy, management consulting, business consulting

What was your main driver for being part of BOKS International?

Small companies like ours, suffers a lot of pressure from the larger companies in our segment. Joining an international network such as BOKS International adds value to the business by making us more competitive

Where do you see BOKS International 5 years from now?

Personally I believe that BOKS International will grow very rapidly considering that in every country there will always be small-sized accounting firms, envisioning the possibility of becoming a member of some international alliance

How would you describe your typical client?

Our customers are atypical. This diversity is a result of the country's own infrastructure, where it is a benefit for most SMB customers (small and medium business enterprises) to keep their accounting, tax and payroll outsourced, allowing the entrepreneur to focus on core business and reduces cost with personnel which is very expensive in our country

Tell us about a recent international assignment

Our last two international events were: the implementation of the entire accounting, fiscal and financial back office of a French wind energy company. And the set up of an importing company, from an argentine winery, that came to Brazil due to the benefits of Mercosul

How do you target clients who are looking for international services?

The search for our office is due to the fact that we permanently maintain commercials adds in the Chambers of Commerce of other countries, we participate in events from foreign countries, as well as ads targeted on the Web  

Do you specialise in a particular sector or service?

No. We have diversified clients and we will probably keep this up, because it is very difficult in Brazil to prospect for specific clients
